Stretching Air

When Air/Fuel mixture is exposed to a vacuum, though the everyday operation of a NA (naturally aspirated)

engine, many things can effect the this concentrated  power charge on it's way to be used in the creation of power.

Take a look at the picture below.

You will notice two 3-Dimensional cubes, both cubes could be equal to 1 cubic inch of fuel/air mixture.

Under a vacuum air/fuel can S T R E T C H, that is short for fewer molecules of air/fuel mixture filling

a space that could accommodate a more dense air charge.

The effect that stretched air has on the operation of a engine is not unlike you going for a jog

through a city park or out in the country, if you do not have enough air, you just do not have the

power you need to run well.

It's easy to see that air/fuel can stretch through the intake track of a NA engine.

The complex part is what causes this STRETCHING effect.
